Cervical length

20 Weeks - 24 Weeks  (£150)

This is to assess the length of the neck of the womb and any changes that takes place prior to onset of labour. It may predict the onset of labour in some pregnant women. It usually combines with uterine artery Doppler, amniotic fluid index and fetal growth and wellbeing. It may be performed between 20-24 weeks of pregnancy. It picks up any shortening of the cervix or any changes in its shape that may predict the onset of miscarriage or preterm labour. It may be repeated every 2-3 weeks when the cervical length is measured using abdominal or trans-vaginal ultrasound scan.

Two 2D images are provided with all baby scans.
