Timing of your Obstetric Ultrasound Scan

Weeks of Pregnancy		Ultrasound Scan
When ever you find out you are pregnant		First Scan to confirm pregnancy and your due date confirm multiple pregnancy and exclude ectopic pregnancy
11 - 14 weeks		Nuchal Ultrasound scan, Vasa Praevia Scan.
16 weeks		Gender & Sexing Scan
18 - 20 weeks		Detailed scan to confirm normal growth of baby & placenta, Vasa Praevia Scan.
22 - 24 weeks		Uterine artery scan (Doppler) i.e. testing for mum’s blood supply & blood supply to baby and placenta Vasa Praevia Scan.
24 weeks onwards		Wellbeing baby scan and for the site of placenta cervical length assessment & 4D Scan. Vasa Praevia Scan.
